being a paramedic

so i did manage to book boston. i can't wait to see ludacris and halloween in boston. i have a feeling i'm going to love it.

more things i'm looking forward too -
next weekend's halloween party in louisville
semester being over
being released as a dispatcher
thanksgiving

to do -
study/paper/projects for school
organize
find a costume
i just forgot.......

tonight i'm at duty on the ambulance. i'm still working towards becoming a released paramedic in the county. it doesn't seem like i'm getting anywhere. it is frustrating not to be able to staff regularly or to keep up a pace on this precepting. at times being a paramedic seems more work then it is worth. in any case that's the hat i'm wearing tonight

i miss pittsburgh. i wish i was at ja's party instead. i also miss not living in the suburbs and $1 drafts. i think sometimes i wouldn't mind giving up everything here and just heading to a city somewhere to continue school. i think i'd have quit the whole paramedic thing a while ago if i didn't enjoy the people around here.

for all their faults and short comings, volunteers are pretty great people. of course i'm lumping everyone together here and definitely generalizing but its not too far off, besides the exemptions prove the rule right? i think someone could write a book entirely based on the people that revolve in and out of the station, maybe even more interestingly then one about the calls. the medic sitting next to me was just discussing turning his blog into a book - which reminded me to update this.

i'm generally not a fan of "war story" blogs because they tend to be overly dramatic and paint firefighters/medics as do no wrong hero/gods, but the post i read from his was pretty funny - i think he may have something. in case i'd probably buy it just to see.
